Lancaster Canal Boat Club OBJECT OF THE CLUB AND MEMBERSHIP 1. The name of the Club shall be the LANCASTER CANAL BOAT CLUB. 2. The aim of the club shall be to encourage the continued use of the Lancaster Canal for the purpose of private and commercial navigation. (a) To promote social activities (b) To co-operate with any other body having similar aims 3. Membership shall be open to anybody at the age of 18 years and over as an adult member and to any person under 18 years as a junior member. 4. SUBSCRIPTIONS (Due on the First day of January each year) Single membership - £15 Family/joint membership - £25 - Two adults over 18 years of age defined as a couple, and any children belonging to them, excluding grandchildren. Junior membership - NIL (who are children of joint members) Grandchildren and junior members who are not children of family members - £5 - providing this is paid at the beginning of the club year, or in the case of new members , as soon as possible thereafter. The said junior must be a friend or relative of family/joint members who will be responsible for him/her. (a) The club has the right to alter or amend the annual subscription at its Annual General Meeting. (b) Subscriptions shall be due on the day of joining, and the 1st January each year thereafter. New members joining after 30th June in any year will only be required to pay half the membership subscription for that year. Subscriptions will be due in full for members joining before that date. 5. The election of proposed members shall be vested in the general committee. 6. The club shall be affiliated to the Inland Waterways Association and shall conform to the rules of conduct as required by that association. 7. Membership shall cease if the subscription has not been paid for the ensuing year three months after the due date, Any person whose membership has lapsed and wishes to rejoin shall be required to pay the full subscription. 8. Junior members shall not be entitled to vote. |
